Welcome! By using the 100summits.com website, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (the "Terms of Service").

1. Copyright Policy

No copyrighted material may be uploaded without the permission of the copyright owner. This includes images, text, and all other types of intellectual property ("Content"). Members are responsible for obtaining the necessary permission before posting any copyrighted material. If permission is granted by the copyright owner, the member must credit the owner with a link or some other appropriate type of reference.

We respect intellectual property rights and are committed to removing unauthorized material when it is discovered. If you believe that any of your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide the webmaster and the infringing member with the following information:

3. Grant of License

By posting Content, you grant 100summits.com a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and otherwise use, with or without attribution such Content solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting the site. 100summits.com reserves the right to syndicate Content submitted, posted or displayed by you and use that Content in connection with any of the services offered by 100summits. This license terminates when such Content is deleted from the site.

 

4. Editorial Control

100summits.com staff maintains the right to perform edits on your submitted Content for the purpose of correcting factual errors, removing copyright violations, and changing or deleting any Content that is otherwise in violation of policies.

The 100summits.com website consists of articles, blogs, and photos contributed by members. Each item on the site has at least one "maintainer" - a person authorized to make edits to the object. You become the initial maintainer of objects you contribute. As maintainer, you are expected to ensure that the information provided for your Content is useful, complete, accurate, and up-to-date.

You acknowledge that Content you contribute may be deleted or transferred to another maintainer in accordance with our policies. You agree that in the event of a transfer, the new maintainer may modify material which you have contributed.

Mountaineering requires sound judgment, physical conditioning, and common sense. The resources provided on this site should be used with caution and may contain inaccuracies; therefore 100summits.com is not liable for damages caused to members in the use of the site's information. Mountaineering is dangerous. Take it seriously. When hiking or climbing, always utilize multiple navigation methods and be aware of your surroundings. Before hiking and climbing in the winter months, be aware of and learn about the proper techniques for avalanche safety. Please respect private property. It is your responsibility to determine if land is private and to obtain the appropriate permission before entering the property. Many mountains are within private property, so be warned! Under Colorado state law, the public may cross private lands to access public lands only when a public road or right-of-way (easement) for public access exists across the private lands. In the absence of such a right-of-way, the public has no right to cross private lands without first obtaining permission from the landowner. The landowner is under no obligation to grant such permission.
